Rune Mats were created to enhance your Rune Practice. The traditional method of Rune casting is an ancient skill used for divination and magick. In modern days the Rune Layout has become extremely popular and useful as an everyday practice for divination.

This a layout is based on the Icelandic Saga titled, “Egils saga Skallagrímssonar” (Egil’s Saga). In this story Egil Skallagrimsson is a master poet, warrior and rune master who accomplishes much in his lifetime. The refrences in this Rune Layout are to Chapter 73 where we see Egil cure Thorfinn’s daughter, Helga, who had become sick because of some Runes that were wrongfully carved on whalebone. The Runes were originally carved on whalebone and placed in Helga’s bed but the person who carved those Runes was not a master of the Runes. The lack of experience in the original carvers Runes caused Helga to become sick. Helga lay dying in her bed until Egil came. He discarded the old Runes, and cured her by placing healing Runes onto the whalebone. Thorfinn is relieved of his worry and concern, ever grateful to the master carver.

This theme is translated into this Rune Layout. It is important to have clear intentions in this life. You need to recognize when there are challenges that must be overcome to achieve your goals and peruse your dreams. If you are un-willing to put in the time and work to surpass the obstacles by leaning, you will not achieve those goals. When your intentions and goals stay the same, yet you refuse to learn the lessons in life needed to attain those goals, you will face the same obstacles over and over again. You must either learn and grow to get where you wish or face a life of challenge with no dreams realized. Head the words and advice given by the Runes and you can reach your hearts desire.
