Psychic Witch

January - Book of the Month - Review

This book was dedicated to the memory of Raven Grimassi “If the art of witchcraft can be reduced to one aspect, it would be the achieving of altered states of consciousness….On a deeper level, we can add trance (induced by whatever means) and psychic development. Such states of consciousness allow the Witch not only to perceive things behind their veneer but also to reshape reality in an experiential sense.” - Raven Grimassi The Witches’ Craft: The Roots of Witchcraft & Magical Transformation

This has to be one of the most important books for witches. It is well written, easy to follow and filled with tangible ways to expand your mind and magick. Auryn walks you through the basics of psychic ability; how to find it, channel it, practice and perfect it. You will learn how to physically and mentally connect with the energy around you in well thought out meditation guidance, rituals, spells and chants. This book is an amazing guide, something every witch should read and incorporate into their current craft. While it is about psychic ability, it is more about how to use your mind to create your reality in a more intentional way.

There are so many favorite moments in this book for me, it is literally full of them, with one of my top favorites being Exercise 24 The Black Roses. This quick and simple exercise can change so much in you. After reading a few quick paragraphs detailing an experience that touches all your senses, you will be asked to analyze your ability to conjure the experience in your minds eye. You now have a road map of your psychic powers, where you are naturally gifted and where you will need to put in work. How clever and profound a way to discover your psychic calling.

A theme in the book that was so consistently thought provoking; how do you imagine, how do you create with your mind. It seems so simple and yet I know I had never thought about it in such depth until this book asked me to. I have been visualizing and manifesting for decades, but this book really taught me how to do it by asking me to connect with the process. No one teaches you this stuff in school……why don’t they? What a powerful thing to know; where you create in your mind, why you create there and how to make it a strength. We create our reality everyday with our mind, shouldn’t we all want to be an expert on that.

Another theme that was undeniably exciting, the manipulation of energy with your mind. Energy is the real currency of our world as it cannot be destroyed or created, only exchanged. The ability to control that energy, to decide its next fate in an intentional way, rather than just reacting to it is a game changer. Again, I thought I knew these things but I am wise enough to know when I am not an expert. The exercises shared about energy are the best I have ever seen, really great tools to learn and grow in.

The last subject theme I will share, I really connected with; our imagination is not silly or misguided it is power and raw creation. You can not become something you never gave any thought to. You must imagine to create. I have always been great at imagination. I can create a world with my mind; but the ideas, exercises and concepts in this book helped me see how to put that skill to work and change my reality. I am now even more grateful for a skill that was sometimes received as childish or unimportant.

I am so glad I bought this book and truly believe I will spend the rest of my life treasuring and mastering its lessons. This book will train you to use your brain for manifestation magick. I am already impressed with how far I have leveled up while reading this. Do yourself a favor and add this book to your witchy library, you can thank me later.
